Based on the CNN Projections in the March 4, 2008 Democratic Primary it looks as though Hillary Clinton will be winning the state of Ohio by a pretty sizable margin. Let me for the first time in the history of this blog congratulate not Hillary Clinton, but the state of Ohio for a repeat performance of their epic failure that lead to the 2004 victory of the Bush Administration.
Back in 2004 Ohio had the opportunity to send the Bush Administration packing all the way back to Crawford, Texas, but instead they decided to re-elect Bush and his cronies for four more years of highly secretive leadership. And what did America get? Hurricane Katrina, Recession, US Attorney firings, record profits for Halliburton and Blackwater, the war on science, the war on atheism, the war on homosexuals, the war on our civil rights, the war on privacy, the drum beating to war with Iran, and a “100 year” war with Iraq.
It now appears as though Ohio has had the opportunity again to put someone worthwhile in office and end this madness that has been the 2008 primary season and they decided to choke again and prolong the process again by voting for Hillary Clinton. Instead of being able to focus on the general election we will surely now have to deal with several more weeks of primaries in which either Obama or Hillary will be chosen by super delegates after John McCain has had several more weeks to prepare for the big dance in November.
Back to Ohio, a quintessential blue collar state–against NAFTA and against shipping our jobs overseas. This ignoramus located in the great Midwestern United States rallied behind Clinton these past few weeks despite her consistent mudslinging cheap-shots at Barack Obama. If what’s being reported is true, Clinton won Ohio because of the middle class conservative groups and blue collar workers unions.
The hypocrisy of this ill-informed middle class is absolutely mind boggling as Hillary Clinton has voted for NAFTA every single time it has come up in the Senate with the exception of the recent CAFTA bill. It was maddening to watch Hillary at rallies talk about how bad NAFTA was, and how against it she was despite the fact that she has repeatedly voted for the Free Trade Agreement during her terms as New York’s Senator. (when she decided to show up that is) Despite the fact that she constantly voted for this program, the crowds went wild as if they had no clue that she was directly responsible for manufacturing jobs leaving the state of Ohio. While Bill Clinton was President (presumably during the same time that Hillary decided to take credit for all of his accomplishments, hence her “experience”) he poured millions of dollars into research and development of technology which was a great thing for the economy and the technology sector, but ultimately also led to more and more cutbacks in the amount of manufacturing workers, and middle class workers in general, and a direct increase in profits for large corporations. Too bad for you, middle class America.
The most irritating thing about Hillary Clinton, in regards to the state of Ohio that is, is the fact that she worked on the board of executives for Walmart. That’s right, the single biggest retailer out of the United States that actively shipped jobs overseas only to put hundreds of middle class mom and pop retail stores out of business due to the fact that they simply couldn’t compete with Walmart’s unbelievable low prices–Hillary worked for them. She shipped jobs overseas so you could get your jeans for 8 dollars, since your store went out of business, because everyone was going to Walmart. Guess who’s paying for Hillary’s expensive campaign? Walmart.
So thank you Ohio, thanks again for choosing the absolute wrong person. Here’s to the 2012 election when Ohio will have the chance to re-elect John McCain for his second term as President. (Assuming he beats Hillary after the super delegates do what they do best and choose the person who won’t win against a stronger, more experienced candidate in November)
